Breaking: Tesla May Resume Bitcoin Payments

Tesla’s quarterly report kept in mind that the company might restart cryptocurrency payments for its services and products. In the Digital Assets section of the report, the company verified buying approximately $1.50 billion in Bitcoin towards the end of the third quarter.

Additionally, the report also pointed out that while Tesla accepted Bitcoin payments till March, it suspended the practice in lieu of Bitcoin’s unsustainable nature. However, Musk-owned Tesla is back to basics, just in time when Bitcoin is exceeding considering that Bitcoin ETF application in the United States.

“During the nine months ended September 30, 2021, we bought an aggregate of $1.50 billion in bitcoin. In addition, throughout the 3 months ended March 31, 2021, we accepted bitcoin as a payment for sales of particular of our items in specified areas, subject to appropriate laws, and suspended this practice in May 2021. We may in the future restart the practice of negotiating in cryptocurrencies (“digital assets”) for our services and products.”

Earlier this year, post-suspension of Bitcoin payments by Tesla, Elon Musk verified at the B-Word Conference that Tesla owns Bitcoins, together with him having a comprehensive individual Bitcoin portfolio. Additionally, the report noted that Tesla has ownership over its digital possessions and additional intend on including 3rd parties to protect those digital assets through custodial services.

“We have ownership of and control over our digital possessions and we may use third-party custodial services to secure it. The digital assets are initially recorded at expense and are consequently remeasured on the combined balance sheet at cost, net of any impairment losses incurred given that acquisition.”

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has not shied away from showing his support for Bitcoin’s continuous bull. According to CoinGape’s protection last week, Musk tweeted the popular “69-420” meme to specify Bitcoin’s extraordinary performance in the continuous bull run. Moreover, last month at the Code Conference in Beverly Hills, California, Musk advised the U.S. government versus their expanding crypto crackdown, restoring that they should “Do Nothing” to slow down the crypto industry to a stringent regulative framework.
