As 1 Inch Network is eager to expand its ecosystem of products and projects, comes the 1 Inch Hardware Wallet, a cutting-edge solution for cold crypto storage.
Security is one of the main concerns when it comes to crypto storage. As an isolated device that stores a user’s address and private keys, a hardware wallet offers the highest level of security. They are offline, uncontrolled, and have several security levels that protect your data from different types of attacks. Hardware wallets are typically used as extra protection for manually approving transactions or as cold storage for crypto.
Currently in the final stages of development and expected to launch later this year, the 1-inch hardware wallet offers the most secure approach to storing users’ private keys offline in a simple and open-source manner.
Supported by a grant from the 1inch Foundation, this wallet is developed by an independent team working within the 1inch Network.
Here is an overview of the features of the 1 inch hardware wallet:
The device is completely air-gapped as it has no buttons and does not require a wired connection. All data is exchanged using QR codes or optionally using NFC.
Users benefit from transparent transaction signing as opposed to blind signatures offered by other devices. Full transaction analysis and offline analysis of call data are done to prevent hacker attacks and theft of funds. If the transaction the user is signing is compromised on her web or mobile her app, the device will notify the user immediately.
The 1-inch hardware wallet also allows users to create and manage multiple wallet sets with different seed phrases. Each wallet creates a new set of wallets using the Hierarchical Deterministic (HD) Wallet algorithm according to BIP44. On first use, the maximum number of wallets is randomly generated and no one knows how many wallets except the device owner. Meanwhile, different PIN codes provide access to different wallet sets, bridging the security gap in the market.
During the process of creating the 1 inch hardware wallet, special attention was paid to various aspects of its design. As a result, we have achieved a compact size of a bank card with a weight of 70g and a thickness of 4mm.
A 2.7-inch E-Ink grayscale touch display with light/dark mode support makes the 1-inch hardware wallet very easy to use and convenient, but thanks to the Gorilla Glass 6 surface and stainless steel frame, the device is sturdy. and is also waterproof. .
This device supports wireless charging and the Li-Po battery can last for about 2 weeks.
Finally, the 1 inch hardware wallet is available in 5 colors.
The 1inch brand’s first physical product was supported by a grant from the 1inch Foundation. Learn more about 1inch’s grant program here.
