Bitcoin rose 1.73% in the first day of the week. Global cryptocurrency market capitalization was green as prices of most of the top cryptocurrencies surged.

Bitcoin, the world’s most popular and largest cryptocurrency, has surpassed $17,000. It is trading at $17,235.29, up 1.73% over the last 24 hours. Its closest rival, Ethereum, is up 3.80% at the time of writing, priced at $1,310.42 (1030 IST).
Most of the top cryptocurrencies witnessed price increases today. Solana is up 23.23%, Cardano is up 20.05%, Litecoin is up 8.41%, Polygon is up 7.55% and Polkadot is up 6.65% from the day before. Other top crypto tokens such as Tron, Uniswap, Cosmos and Avalanche are in green.
On Monday, the global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $849.68 billion, recording a 3.16% gain over the past 24 hours, while the total cryptocurrency market volume climbed 78.50% to $30.09 billion.
Today’s top performers are Zilliqa and Lido DAO, which have risen 32.35% and 29.20% respectively. Conversely, Fei USD was the top loser.
Memecoin price rises
The popular meme coin has gone up in price. His Dogecoin, backed by Elon Musk, rose 5.17% of his, while Shiba Inu, another dog-based memecoin, rose 6.22% from the previous day. Both were trading at $0.07561 and $0.000008942 respectively.

The top metaverse tokens also showed price spikes. Sandbox, Decentraland, ApeCoin and Axie Infinity saw increases of 14.58%, 12.72%, 12.28% and 7.41% respectively.
