Barcelona on Wednesday announced its first trade in crypto last Tuesday, apparently signing a deal with WhiteBIT, one of the biggest cryptocurrency operators.
However, a search for the agreement online, including on Barcelona’s website and social media, reveals no trace of the agreement. The club has removed all posts related to the agreement.
The MD claims this was due to the fact that Barcelona were reviewing some contract details and the deal was never broken. It’s interesting that they decide to wipe Contracts out of their online presence.
Blaugrana has signed a deal with blockchain company Chiliz to provide Fan Tokens, a first for the club. Questions were raised about market volatility after his FTX, a major cryptocurrency company, collapsed in a matter of months. In a statement, Barcelona emphasized that he believes WhiteBIT is a trustworthy company.
